Program offered in Nacogdoches and Houston Counties. The program provides a full day childcare program on Monday - Friday. Head Start 0-5 Program provides comprehensive classroom and home-based services to pregnant women and children birth to age five including children with significant special needs. Services provided through a year-round program with early, continuous, intensive, comprehensive child development and family support services for low-income children birth to age 5 and expected families at select locations. NAIANHSCO is committed to assisting Head Start grantees in developing collaborative partnerships that will help improve the quality of life for AIAN children and families. Head Start’s services and resources are designed to foster stable family relationships, enhance children’s physical and emotional well-being, and establish an environment to develop strong cognitive skills. NAIANHSCO serves 150 AIAN Head Start and 58 AIAN Early Head Start programs in 26 different states across the country. Head Start is a federally-funded program which has been in existence since 1965 that promotes school preparation by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social, and other services.
